Have a spot on your mantel that is empty? Add a mantel clock. Have a desk that needs that
special addition? Add a table clock.
Or think about your wall décor. Could it use a unique clock to spice up its appearance?
The word 'clock' comes from the French word "cloche" meaning bell. The Latin for bell is
glocio, the Saxon is clugga and the German is glocke.
Not too many years ago, we relied on church bells ringing to tell us the time. The bells ringing
gave you a general idea of the time. I grew up in a small town in New England. As a child I can
remember the church bells ringing at various times throughout the day. This was important to
me because many times I would be outside playing and my mother had told me to be home at
3 pm. So I counted on hearing those church bells. I also remember counting the number of
times the bells rang so I would know the approximate time. When I counted the bells ringing 3
times, I knew it was time to go home. Whether I actually went home or not sometime was
arguable, but I knew the time.
Today we have a vast variety of clocks available to choose from. Wrought Iron Clocks and
Metal Clocks are by far becoming the most popular clocks today because of their versatility.
Wrought Iron Clocks and Metal Clocks come in a large variety of styles, shapes and colors.
Wrought Iron has always lent itself to a sense of stability and style. So when you add a
wrought iron or metal clock to your home décor you are also adding a certain amount of status
and class to your home.
